Educating Design: Ensuring Facilities Empower Education

Brisbane, Queensland, 28-30 May 2003

Brisbane The Australian Chapter of the Council of Education Facility Planners International (CEFPI) brings together educators, architects, facility planners, builders, information and communication technologists and other interested groups to support the provision of the most effective learning environments for learners of all ages.

The 2003 annual conference to be held in Brisbane, is attracting international speakers and delegates from North America, Europe and Asia, including cultural heritage and education specialist Romi Khosla who has worked with UNESCO and the United Nations Development Program and has published on the topic of the redevelopment of education facilities to accommodate new curriculum. The conference program will include topics such as: pedagogical approaches and implication for facilities; alternative delivery modes and implications; online learning; flexible timetabling; sustainability; special needs; condition assessment; post-occupancy evaluation. These topics will be addressed in keynote presentations, workshops and School, TAFE and University Tours.
